Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Close to Home

For some injuries and illnesses, a long-term recovery plan is necessary to fully heal. Cody Regional Health’s Rehabilitation Programs are designed to address the physical limitations after the initial treatment has been completed, such as joint replacement surgery.

In rehabilitation, you will work one-on-one with a physical, occupational, or speech therapist to create your very own personalized therapy program. Our rehab programs are available for patients in long-term care, home health, and outpatient services. We are the only therapy provider in Cody that offers physical, occupational, and speech therapies under one roof.

Creating Your Rehab Program

There is no one-size-fits-all treatment when it comes to rehabilitation programs because injury and/or illness affects everyone uniquely. For this reason, Cody Regional Health’s Rehabilitation Therapists take the time to get to know their patients and learn more about their condition. They will take into account their medical history, life at home, and goals for the future. With these factors in mind, they can create a program that targets recovery to meet your specific needs.

Rehabilitation typically consists of one or a combination of physical, speech, and occupational therapies:

  • Physical therapy: This healthcare specialty provides help for patients who need to develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functional ability. Patients who require physical therapy may be stroke survivors, post-operative patients, individuals with spinal cord injuries, sports injury patients, and others. Physical therapy can help people at any stage of life when movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, diseases, or disorders. Patients will see a licensed Physical Therapist who is an expert in assessing physical conditions and helping patients regain maximal functional mobility and independence. Skilled physical therapists like ours are proven to help patients recover more quickly and safely. We are also excited to offer dry needling and aquatic therapy in our outpatient setting.
  • Occupational therapy: This specialty helps patients perform not only their work duties, but everyday life activities (ADLs). The role of the OT is to support performance and participation in an individual’s unique environment. Occupational therapy services are provided for habilitation and rehabilitation of individuals to promote health and wellness. OTs skillfully address the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory-perceptual, and other aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect physical and mental health, well-being, and quality of life.
  • Speech therapy: Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) focus on the treatment of impairments and disorders of speech, voice, language, communication, and swallowing. SLPs work to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. They can assist with conditions such as stuttering, poor articulation, language comprehension, speech disorders, and much more. Patients of all ages may benefit from assistance from an SLP.
