Our wilderness EMS team operates a specially equipped Chevy Suburban and
Polaris UTV for special response calls in accompaniment with Park County
Search and Rescue. This specialized area of emergency medical response
focuses on providing medical care in remote or rugged environments. These
services are often required in areas where traditional EMS resources may
not be readily available, such as national parks, forests, mountains,
and other wilderness areas.
Wilderness EMS professionals are trained to navigate challenging terrains,
handle extreme weather conditions, and administer advanced medical care
in these unconventional settings. Our team is adept at improvising with
limited resources and making critical care decisions in potentially life-threatening
situations. The expertise of our wilderness EMS staff extends beyond typical
medical knowledge, incorporating survival skills, rescue techniques, and
a deep understanding of the unique hazards associated with wilderness
environments.
