Cardiac Rehabilitation
Helping You Move Forward With Confidence
Recovering from a heart condition or procedure can feel overwhelming. At Cody Regional Health, our Cardiac Rehabilitation program provides medically supervised exercise, education and support designed to help you safely rebuild strength, improve your heart health and return to the activities that matter most to you.
Our team works alongside you and your healthcare provider to create an individualized rehabilitation plan based on your health, abilities and personal goals. Whether you are recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery or another qualifying cardiac condition, our goal is to help you feel stronger, more confident and better prepared to manage your heart health for the future.
What Is Cardiac Rehabilitation?
Cardiac rehabilitation is a structured, medically supervised program for
people who have experienced certain heart conditions, procedures or surgeries.
Rather than navigating recovery on your own, cardiac rehab gives you a
safe environment to exercise while trained healthcare professionals monitor
your progress and help you gradually improve your strength and endurance.
Your program may include:
- Medically supervised exercise
- Heart rate, blood pressure and symptom monitoring
- An individualized exercise and recovery plan
- Education about heart health and cardiovascular risk factors
- Guidance for safely increasing physical activity
- Support for making heart-healthy lifestyle changes
- Ongoing encouragement as you work toward your personal goals
Every patient begins in a different place. Our team meets you where you are and helps you progress at a pace that is appropriate for you.
Who Can Benefit From Cardiac Rehab?
Cardiac rehabilitation may be recommended following certain cardiovascular diagnoses, procedures or surgeries. This can include patients recovering from a heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, angioplasty or stent placement, as well as certain patients living with heart failure or other qualifying cardiac conditions.
Your healthcare provider can help determine whether cardiac rehabilitation is appropriate for you.
What to Expect?
Your cardiac rehabilitation journey begins with an individual assessment with our team. We take time to learn about your medical history, current abilities, concerns and goals.
From there, we develop a personalized plan for your rehabilitation.
During your sessions, our team will guide you through appropriate cardiovascular and strengthening exercises while monitoring how your body responds. As you progress, your exercise plan can be adjusted to help you safely build endurance, strength and confidence.
Cardiac rehabilitation isn’t about becoming an athlete. It’s about helping you safely return to everyday life—whether that means walking farther without becoming tired, returning to work, keeping up with your family or simply feeling more comfortable being active again.
A New Space Designed Around Our Patients
Cody Regional Health is expanding and relocating Cardiac Rehabilitation to better meet the needs of our patients and our growing program.
Over the past two years, we have doubled the number of cardiac rehabilitation classes offered. Our newly renovated space provides additional room to continue growing while creating a more comfortable and personalized experience for patients.
The expanded Cardiac Rehabilitation space includes updated exercise equipment, renovated flooring, ceilings and finishes, additional exercise options and space that will allow us to introduce group exercise opportunities.
Just as importantly, the new location provides greater privacy for initial patient assessments and conversations with our team. This allows patients and staff to discuss individual needs and goals in a more comfortable and confidential environment before beginning the rehabilitation process.
More Than Exercise
Exercise is an important part of cardiac rehabilitation, but recovery involves much more than physical activity.
Our goal is to help patients better understand their heart health and develop habits they can continue long after completing the program. Throughout rehabilitation, patients have an opportunity to learn more about managing cardiovascular risk factors, safely staying active and making sustainable lifestyle changes.
Most importantly, you don’t have to navigate recovery alone. Our team is here to answer questions, celebrate progress and help you take meaningful steps toward better heart health.
Cardiac Care Close to Home
Recovering from a cardiac event can require multiple appointments and weeks of rehabilitation. Having access to these services close to home allows patients throughout our region to receive ongoing support without having to travel long distances for every session.
At Cody Regional Health, we’re committed to providing high-quality cardiac rehabilitation right here in our community so you can focus on what matters most: your recovery.
