Ty Nelson[1]

Ty Nelson was born and raised in Powell, Wyoming. He attended the University of Wyoming on a full-track-and-field scholarship, earning a degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting. In 1993, he was recognized as the University of Wyoming College of Business Outstanding Finance and Economics Student. Following graduation, Ty moved to New York City to begin a career in finance on Wall Street.

After working with financial firms in New York City and Chicago, Ty and his wife, Brandi, returned to northwest Wyoming in 2002 to raise their family in Cody. Together they have three children, Alexandra, Matthew, and Zachary. Ty considers raising their family in Cody one of the best decisions they have ever made.

Since 2009, Ty has served as President and CEO of First Bank of Wyoming. Under his leadership, the bank has grown to serve more than 40,000 customers through eleven locations across western Wyoming. His extensive experience in banking and finance, including providing financial services to hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare organizations, gives him valuable insight into the financial and operational challenges facing rural healthcare providers.

Ty has served on the Cody Regional Health Board of Trustees since 2014. In addition to his board service at Cody Regional Health, he currently serves on the boards of the Wyoming Bankers Association and First Bank of Wyoming. His previous community leadership roles include serving on the boards of the Youth Clubs of Park County and the University of Wyoming College of Business.

Ty is passionate about ensuring that rural communities have access to exceptional healthcare and educational opportunities. He believes these two institutions are essential to a community's long-term strength, vitality, and quality of life. Together, Ty and Brandi have dedicated significant time to public service. Brandi served eight years on the Park County School District No. 6 Board of Trustees, including seven years as Board Chair.

Ty and his family are proud to call Cody home and remain committed to supporting a healthy, vibrant future for the community they love.
