Dick’s healthcare career began as a staff Respiratory Therapist, working in both acute care and home care settings before advancing to coordinate an inpatient and outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. His transition into human resources came through an unexpected opportunity when the Human Resources Officer at a critical access hospital in Michigan recognized Richard's leadership potential and developed a formal succession plan that prepared him to assume the role upon his mentor's retirement.

Since joining Cody Regional Health, Dick has played a key role in strengthening the organization's workforce through recruitment, retention, employee engagement, leadership development, and strategic human resources initiatives. His clinical background provides him with a unique perspective, allowing him to understand the challenges faced by nurses, therapists, providers, and other healthcare professionals while supporting them throughout their careers.

Dick earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Western Michigan University and an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy from Kalamazoo Community College.

He brings extensive expertise in all facets of human resources, including state and federal employment regulations, labor law, FMLA, workers' compensation, employee relations, compensation and wage analysis, benefits administration, retirement planning, and leadership training.
