Elizabeth A. Gauer, MD

About Elizabeth

Dr. Gauer graduated from medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency program at the University of Washington in 2002 and she completed her Cardiology Fellowship there as well in 2005. Dr. Gauer went on to complete her Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in 2006. Not only is she board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, but is also board-certified in Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Transthoracic Echocardiography. In addition, Dr. Gauer has served as an American Board of Vascular Medicine (ABVM) Endovascular Diplomat since 2009 as a Vascular Diplomat since 2010.

The American Board of Vascular Medicine is an independent organization dedicated to the certification of qualified vascular medicine physicians. This certification process is based upon formal professional education or practice in vascular medicine with experience-based requirements and examination.

Prior to joining Cody Regional Health, Dr. Gauer worked as a general Cardiologist with PeaceHealth at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington. Prior to this, she worked as a General and Interventional Cardiologist for six years at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Now she is most interested in serving patients in their general Cardiology health needs and loves performing ECHOS. Along with expertise in cardiac disease management and prevention, she is also skilled in Holter monitoring and pacemaker checks. In addition to the Cody Cardiology Center location in the Cathcart Health Center, Dr. Gauer will bring her skills to outreach locations in Basin, Worland, and Powell.

Dr. Elizabeth Gauer and her husband, Matthew, have visited Wyoming frequently and they both enjoy the outdoor beauty and recreation that the Big Horn Basin provides, especially hiking and fishing. They have three grown children.
