About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Matey, C-FNP, is a dual board-certified Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in both public health and acute care. Born and raised in San Diego, Elizabeth and her husband were drawn to the natural beauty and close-knit spirit of Cody, Wyoming. After her husband’s longstanding involvement with a nonprofit providing equine therapy for veterans and first responders, the couple made the decision to make Cody their permanent home—drawn by the region's sense of purpose, community, and opportunity to serve.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Arizona, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama. Her advanced training and clinical experience allow her to care for patients across the lifespan with a particular focus on providing wellness education, urgent care, and support during times of medical uncertainty.
Known for her warm, compassionate approach, Elizabeth thrives on building fast, trusting relationships with patients and their families—even during their most vulnerable moments. She brings not only clinical expertise, but also a calming presence and a passion for education and empowerment.
Outside of work, Elizabeth and her husband enjoy camping, traveling, and spending time on the water—whether it's a lake, river, or ocean. They are excited to continue exploring the Cody area and are grateful to be part of such a welcoming and resilient community.
Elizabeth is proud to serve the Big Horn Basin through Cody Regional Health and is committed to providing quality, patient-centered care that supports the health and well-being of the region for years to come.
