At Cody Regional Health, our EMS team proudly serves the Big Horn Basin
with comprehensive emergency medical services, interfacility transports,
and specialized care in some of the most rural and rugged areas of Wyoming.
With over 4,000 responses each year, our highly trained EMTs and paramedics
are equipped with the tools, training, and compassion to provide exceptional
care when and where it’s needed most.
911 Emergency Response
Our ambulances respond to more than 4,000 calls annually, covering distances
up to two hours away. Each vehicle is equipped with Advanced Life Support
(ALS) gear, allowing our teams to deliver lifesaving care during emergencies.
We proudly serve Cody, Greybull, Basin, Worland, Thermopolis, and surrounding
communities, often supporting smaller volunteer EMS services with mutual aid.
Advanced Life Support (ALS)
Our paramedics deliver the highest level of pre-hospital and critical care.
ALS ambulances are equipped with advanced technology, including:
Ultrasound for rapid, on-scene diagnostics
Hamilton T-1 ventilators for advanced airway management
IV pumps for precise delivery of critical medications
Our paramedics receive continuous training and work closely with hospital
staff to ensure seamless care for critical patients being transferred
to higher-level facilities.
Wilderness Medicine
The Big Horn Basin’s rugged terrain requires specialized expertise.
Our Wilderness EMS Team, equipped with a Suburban and Polaris UTV, responds
alongside local Search and Rescue to bring advanced medical care into
remote and difficult-to-reach areas. Trained in wilderness life support
and survival skills, our team provides lifesaving care in challenging
environments such as mountains, forests, and backcountry trails.
Community Paramedicine
Our Community Paramedic program brings healthcare directly into the home,
helping patients avoid unnecessary hospital visits. Services include:
Lab draws and diagnostic services at home
Wellness checks and medication support
Follow-up visits after hospital stays
Chronic disease management and patient education
This proactive approach improves patient outcomes and supports healthier
communities.
Event Medical Standbys
From rodeos and races to school events and community festivals, our EMS
team provides professional on-site medical coverage for local gatherings.
