Prashant Vaishnava, MD

About Prashant

Dr. Prashant Vaishnava is a board-certified cardiologist with extensive experience in both academic and clinical cardiovascular medicine. He is fellowship-trained in cardiovascular disease and brings decades of expertise caring for patients with complex heart conditions across a wide range of settings.

Dr. Vaishnava completed his cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He has held faculty appointments at several nationally recognized institutions, including Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also served in leadership roles focused on quality improvement and patient safety.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Vaishnava is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians and has contributed extensively to cardiovascular research, medical education, and national quality initiatives. His academic work includes numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and invited presentations at national and international conferences.

Dr. Vaishnava is known for his thoughtful, patient-centered approach and his ability to clearly explain complex medical conditions and treatment options. He values collaboration, shared decision-making, and ensuring patients feel heard and supported throughout their care.

He is pleased to be providing cardiology coverage at Cody Regional Health alongside Dr. Rubin, helping ensure continued access to high-quality cardiovascular care for patients in the Big Horn Basin while the organization continues recruiting full-time cardiologists.
