About Kate

Kate Carter, CPNP-AC is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience caring for children from newborn through adolescence. She provides comprehensive pediatric care with a strong foundation in acute, critical, and hospital-based medicine, bringing decades of clinical expertise to families across the Big Horn Basin.

Kate’s background includes years of pediatric intensive care, neonatal and pediatric critical care transport, and hospital-based pediatric care. Her clinical experience spans caring for children with acute illnesses, chronic and complex conditions, and critical care needs. She is deeply committed to evidence-based practice while maintaining a compassionate, family-centered approach to care.

Throughout her career, Kate has prioritized listening to patients and families, recognizing that trust, communication, and understanding are essential components of high-quality pediatric care. She is known for her ability to partner with parents, address concerns thoughtfully, and provide culturally competent care tailored to each child’s unique needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Kate has a strong passion for education. She has served as a clinical instructor in pediatrics and continues to support the education of future healthcare providers as an adjunct professor for a physician assistant program. Her dedication to teaching reflects her commitment to advancing pediatric care and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and their dogs. Her interests include woodworking, crochet, reading, cooking, camping, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors—activities that reflect her appreciation for hands-on creativity and time spent in nature.
