About Jon-Rene

Dr. Jon-Rene Christopher Suffern is a board-eligible anesthesiologist who brings more than eight years of clinical experience providing anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical specialties. He is dedicated to delivering safe, patient-centered perioperative care and works closely with surgical teams to ensure patients receive the highest level of support before, during, and after their procedures.

Dr. Suffern earned his Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and completed his Anesthesiology Residency at Tufts Medical Center. His training and experience include anesthesia for procedures in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, and OB/GYN in both hospital and outpatient surgical settings.

Throughout his career, Dr. Suffern has been known for his professionalism, reliability, and collaborative approach to patient care. His clinical expertise includes general anesthesia, regional anesthesia techniques such as spinal and epidural blocks, airway management including difficult airway techniques, and modern anesthesia delivery methods including total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA).

Dr. Suffern maintains certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

At Cody Regional Health, Dr. Suffern plays an important role in supporting the hospital’s surgical teams and ensuring patients feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their surgical experience.
