Cody, Wyo.(October 15, 2018) – Cody Regional Health’s Chief Executive Officer, Doug McMillan, was recently awarded the prestigious American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion Award for 2018.
Every year, the American Hospital Association, in conjunction with the state hospital associations, recognizes the achievements of grassroots leaders.
Individuals are recognized for exceptional leadership in generating grassroots and community activity in support of a hospital’s mission. They effectively educate elected officials on how major issues affect the hospital’s vital role in the community, and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients.
“Doug McMillan for the past 21 years has diligently moved our organization in the right direction to benefit our community’s healthcare and economy. Without his leadership I don’t believe CRH would be the robust healthcare system we are today,” states Chief Clinical Officer and Senior Leader, Keith Ungrund.
“Doug has long been a strong advocate of hospitals and healthcare in the state of Wyoming and especially in his community. He has served for years as a hospital representative on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board and has helped drive policy to improve healthcare and protect hospitals, both nationally but even more importantly, in Wyoming. He has traveled to DC and is readily available to work with our congressional delegates. He spends time and works with local state legislatures keeping them abreast and educating them on healthcare issues. He is actively involved in the state and national PAC. His grassroots efforts have definitely been effective and he has earned the respect of the legislators,” States Eric Boley, President of Wyoming Hospital Association.
“I can’t think of a more deserving CEO for this award. Our board depends on Doug’s expertise as we make major decisions that will affect our healthcare in the Big Horn Basin Region. We are moving in the right direction and are thankful for his sound guidance and leadership,” states Graham Jackson, Cody Regional Health Trustee.
Cody Regional Health works to meet their community’s health needs by providing extraordinary healthcare to those they serve by people who care. Their key values are compassion, integrity, excellence, innovation and collaboration.
