First Board Certified - Advanced Diabetes Management Professional In Park County

Cody, Wyo.(May 22, 2017) –West Park Hospital’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Liz Fabrizio, has passed the boards for Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) from the American Association of diabetes Educators (AADE).

Ms. Fabrizio is the only registered BC-ADM in Park County and is one of two health care professionals to hold this certification in the state of Wyoming.

Certification as a BC-ADM supports the advanced level of knowledge and ability to skillfully manage complex patient needs while assisting patients with their therapeutic problem-solving within their scope of practice as a healthcare professional.

Diabetes education is a collaborative process through which people with or at risk for diabetes gain the knowledge and skills needed to modify behavior and successfully manage the disease and its related conditions at a high proficiency level. The BC-ADM certification is comprehensive and only attained by health professionals that meet the eligibility criteria which includes 500 hours in advance diabetes management, a master’s degree or higher and extensive professional education training specific to diabetes.
