Cody Regional Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Filip Troicki, a board-certified radiation oncologist, to the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center. Dr. Troicki will join the organization August 24, strengthening access to specialized radiation oncology services for patients and families across Northwest Wyoming.
His arrival represents the next chapter in Cody Regional Health’s continued investment in cancer care and reinforces the organization’s commitment to providing patients with access to specialty healthcare in the Big Horn Basin. Radiation therapy is one of the most common and important treatments for cancer, used in more than half of all cancer cases. In rural communities, access to care close to home can reduce the time and distance associated with treatment while helping patients remain near family, caregivers and other support systems.
“Because radiation therapy often requires multiple visits over a period of days or weeks, the ability to receive care locally is extremely important to our patients and families,” said Cody Regional Health CEO Hannah McRae. “We’re fortunate to welcome Dr. Troicki to work alongside our talented care teams and strengthen delivery of high-quality cancer care here in the Big Horn Basin.”
Access to radiation oncology remains a significant challenge in communities across the country. A 2026 study published in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics found that more than 50 million Americans live in counties without a radiation oncology practice site. The study also found that rural radiation oncology sites had 44% higher odds of disappearing than urban sites between 2018 and 2025.
Dr. Troicki’s arrival strengthens Cody Regional Health’s commitment to providing high-quality, specialized care locally and demonstrates what is possible for healthcare in rural Wyoming. He brings experience in advanced radiation oncology and precision treatment techniques designed to deliver highly focused radiation as part of individualized cancer treatment plans. Dr. Troicki will work alongside the multidisciplinary team at the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center and collaborate with healthcare providers throughout the region to support individualized treatment planning, care coordination and radiation oncology services.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center and become part of the Cody community. Cancer care is deeply personal, and I believe every patient deserves to feel heard, informed and supported throughout their journey,” Dr. Troicki said “I’m looking forward to working alongside this dedicated team to provide compassionate, high-quality cancer care closer to home, using the latest technology to deliver care that rivals any cancer center in the region.”
The addition of Dr. Troicki also supports stronger relationships with referring physicians and healthcare partners throughout Northwest Wyoming by providing a local radiation oncology resource for appropriate referrals and coordinated cancer care.
“Dr. Troicki is joining a Cancer Center team that understands how important relationships, communication and compassion are when someone is facing cancer,” said Jennifer Ball, Big Horn Basin Cancer Center director. “Having him here full time strengthens our team and gives us another opportunity to support patients and referring providers throughout the region. We are looking forward to introducing him to the communities we serve.”
Cody Regional Health continues to invest in the future of the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center, including its people, technology and services, with a focus on providing compassionate, person-centered cancer care for patients throughout Northwest Wyoming.
