Cody Regional Health Partners with GlobalMed to Offer World Class Hands-on Rural Medicine

Cody Regional Health’s Community Emergency Medical Service (CEMS) team is now working directly with providers in offering hands-on virtual healthcare inpatient homes through GlobalMed Technologies.

This partnership brings hands-on healthcare to Park County, Wyoming with hopes to expand to the rest of Northwest Wyoming by 2022. GlobalMed operates in more than 60 countries and is the same technology used by the White House Medical Team for the President of the United States’ virtual healthcare.

GlobalMed is the best in their class and the reason why CRH has chosen to partner with them. This new service goes beyond a simple video chat with a physician and toward a fully integrated hands-on experience with healthcare providers from the comfort of your home.

“By collaborating with our trained CEMS professionals, the CEMS clinician will be the hands-on care with the healthcare provider being streamed live and in HD quality,” states Andrea McKay, Chief Ambulatory Officer at CRH.

Using Cody Regional Health’s CEMS professionals, their virtual care solution goes far beyond a video chat by integrating software and data-capturing medical devices to offer evidence-based care.

Who benefits from this level of virtual healthcare?

  • Chronically ill patients need monitoring or intervention but are unable to go to their healthcare provider’s office.
  • Wound care patients who have trouble ambulating can have their wound visually assessed by their Wound physician without leaving their home.
  • Primary Care patients may benefit from having their follow-up visit virtually versus in-person saving time and resources.
  • Cancer patients needing a post-chemotherapy visit without having to return to the office but supporting a check-in with your oncology provider in real-time.
  • Orthopedic patients in need of post-surgical follow-up when travel to the office can be difficult yet a clinical assessment is necessary.

“Location ceases to be a limitation with our virtual healthcare solution. This brings healthcare providers valuable care assessment and coordination to patients who might previously go without treatment. CRH’s virtual care can improve outcomes, reduce healthcare costs and increase physician access,” states Doug McMillan, CEO at Cody Regional Health.
