Cody Regional Health Foundation Helps Funds Genius™ 3D Mammography Machine

We would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to our donors, sponsors, attendees, riders, teams, and volunteers for all they give back to help make a difference in our communities. With our two events this year we have together raised over $97,000 for 3D mammography at Cody Regional Health.

Our efforts to bring 3D mammography to Cody Regional Health is so important because 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Also, 8 out of 9 women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history, but with early detection, the five-year survival rate is almost 100%! This is incredible!

We are bringing Genius™ 3D Mammography to Cody Regional Health because it allows doctors to examine breast tissue layer by layer. So, instead of viewing all of the complexities of breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below.

The Genius™ exam consists of a 2D and 3D™ image set, where the 2D image can be either an acquired 2D image or a 2D image generated from the 3D™ image set. This may sound complicated but more than 200 clinical studies have shown that by using this technology, doctors are able to screen for breast cancer with greater accuracy. The Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam provides better, earlier breast cancer detection compared to 2D alone. It finds 20-65% more invasive breast cancers than 2D mammography alone. Genius exams have also been proven to reduce unnecessary callbacks by up to 40%. This saves our patients from experiencing unnecessary stress in their lives.

With our event Guns & Roses this October we are hoping to meet our goal this year of reaching $100,000. These funds are vital to helping us offer the best technologies available to our patients at Cody Regional Health. We want to make sure our patients can stay close to home and receive healthcare they can trust.
