Cody, Wyo.(April 30, 2017) –West Park Hospital installed new digital portable radiographic machines
on April 4, 2017.
The new equipment is more energy efficient, quieter for patients and will
help improve diagnostic quality. Over 30 percent less radiation will be
transmitted to patients, and faster screen image display results will
improve care in acute settings.
“We are also installing new digital radiology room retrofit upgrades
at West Park Hospital and our Urgent Care Clinic the week of June 5, 2017.
These system upgrades improve diagnostic quality, limited dose to patients
by over 30 percent and faster turnaround time for studies because images
are transmitted wirelessly,” states Demian Kovac, WPH Radiology Director.
Both system upgrades will bring West Park Hospital’s radiology department
into full compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
guidelines for diagnostic imaging studies. The guidelines call for a reduction
in increments, starting in late 2017 if images are not acquired on digital
“It’s important we do everything possible to give our patients
the best treatment they deserve. Our mission is to provide extraordinary
healthcare to those we serve by people who care.” – Demian Kovac
