New Heart Check Program Offers Complete Cardiovascular Screening for Less

Cody Regional Health (CRH) is launching a new comprehensive all-inclusive cardiovascular screening clinic starting on March 15, 2021. The new program is called Heart Check and will be open on Monday and Wednesday with 2 appointments available each day, to begin with.

The purpose for starting the new Heart-Check program is due to coronary artery disease being the leading cause of heart attacks. Their goal is to screen people early before a heart attack occurs. Their team will coach people early in diet, exercise, and other healthy habits.

The new screening program is recommended for women 45 years or older and men 40 years or older or anyone with significant family cardiac disease history.

The screen will be a flat fee of $200 and will include:

  • Lab Tests (Fasting-total cholesterol, TC/HDL ratio & blood sugar)
  • Calcium Score – through a CT scan (a leading marker for heart disease)
  • ABI’s – ankle brachial index
  • Weight/Height BMI
  • Blood Pressure
  • Vascular Screening – carotid and abdominal aortic ultrasounds

“Our cardiac nursing team will work directly with community members. They will help people navigate their next steps. Depending on test results patients will be able to see our interventional cardiologist that afternoon,” states Barb Mullaney, Cody Cardiology Center Director.

Any abnormal results provided will be the patient’s responsibility to discuss with their primary care provider.
