West Park Hospital Partners With the American Cancer Society to Help Lead the Fight Against Cancer

Cody, Wyoming (Aug. 4, 2017) - This year West Park Hospital and its employees will help lead the fight against cancer as a Gold Level Sponsor of Relay For Life.

West Park Hospital embraces the opportunity to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to celebrate cancer survivors and raise awareness and funds through its signature fundraising event, Relay For Life, which is being held at the Paul Stock Rec Center on Saturday, August 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This is a family friendly event that celebrates survivors, caregivers and honors those we have lost in the battle against cancer.

This year, employees at West Park Hospital will be joining Park County Relay for Life to raise funds for the following programs:

  • Look Good, Feel Better – free wigs and makeup for cancer patients
  • Road to Recovery – rides to treatment
  • Lodging Programs – Hope Lodge in cities where major medical facilities are located, as well as lodging in Billings
  • Research – ACS funds collegiate level researchers, and has most recently funded $795,000 grant to the University of Wyoming

These events unite communities to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and provide an opportunity to take action for lifesaving change. Dollars raised allow the American Cancer Society to help people facing the disease today, educate people about how to reduce their risk for cancer or detect it early when it’s the easiest to treat, and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations.
